BASF Winners of Innovation in Tunnels Award
BASF Construction Chemicals won the award of Innovation in Tunnels at the Arabian Tunneling Conference and Exhibition (Dubai, Feb 21-22).
Featured product, MasterSeal 345 is a sprayable membrane used in waterproofing of underground concrete structures. It is spray applied in a sandwich structure between two concrete layers, creating a double bonded composite shell lining which provides excellent water tightness, preventing the development of water migration on both sides. Technologies like MasterSeal 345 have a great impact on the possibility of utilizing tunneling or underground structure as it’s faster and cheaper than “above ground” structures.
A BASF expert from Italy, Diletta Traldi, made a successful presentation about this solution along with Nick Chittenden (Regional Manager Underground Construction), moderated a panel session regarding risk assessment.
As silver sponsors and with presence in the exhibition with a stand, we presented this technology with brand new samples. Our main attraction was the 3D shotcrete application simulator Master Sprayer Competition.
