    Significant investment in manufacturing capacities

BASF's commitment to the Middle East construction market reflected in major capacity extensions

BASF The Construction Chemicals Division of BASF is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to, and confidence in, the Middle East construction market by making several significant investments in their production and research and development facilities.

Upcoming production facility in Misfah, Oman

Christian Geierhaas, the Vice President of the ORA Region explains, "We are rightly very proud of our history as being one of the very first International concerns to establish local manufacturing facilities in the mid 1970's in Sharjah. Our major capacity extensions in Dubai Investment park in 1991 and Dammam in 2001, provided the base to allow us to build our market leading position in concrete admixtures, and growing share in the technical, construction materials market. However, strongly increased demand for our tile adhesives, floor screeds and technical mortar systems has led us to invest in significant new powder production capacity and improved packaging systems in both our Dammam and Dubai sites. Both these new plants will come on stream in Q1 2018. In addition, we have commissioned new admixture manufacturing plants in Muscat, Oman and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to ensure that we can improve our logistics and service to our concrete producing customers in these regions.
