The ability to apply over existing wall coverings provides unique benefits
The client, based in Saudi Arabia, 4 years ago decided to install 3000m2 of
Ucrete, hygienic, heat, abrasion and chemical resistant floor system in their production facility. They have been delighted with the durability and easy cleanability of the floors. However, they had concerns over their existing wall and ceiling finishes. Therefore, when BASF introduced, in early 2018, BioClad, the world's only antimicrobial pvc wall cladding, they called their local BASF flooring specialist for further information. The deciding factor in their choice to install BioClad, was that this solution did not need to demolish or remove their existing wall coverings.
BioClad was installed with minimal dirt, dust and noise pollution allowing other areas within the facility to remain operational. The proposal also significantly reduced the total project installation time.
The challenges faced were the multiple substrates that had to be covered, such as sandwich panels, tiles and acrylic paint, with limited time due to importance of fast return to service of critical areas.

As with all challenges, there needs to be a solution which was to install BioClad standard white antimicrobial sheets with built in BioCote® technology directly over all substrates using the zero VOC polyurethane based BioClad adhesive.
The result was a uniform, clean, functional and HACCP compliant finish for their operation.
The initial response from the client has been very positive, with staff commenting that they feel they are now working in a hospital environment (which will help for a happier workforce). They are also planning further phases and additional areas. This is a fantastic reference showcasing Ucrete and BioClad brands working together, offering our client a full seamless HACCP compliant floor and wall solution.
