How does MasterSeal 910 AP work?
MasterSeal 910 AP provides a simple but efficient method of waterproofing construction joints. MasterSeal 910 AP waterbar is suitable for all construction joints subject to hydrostatic pressure, on one or both sides.
MasterSeal 910 AP is fixed onto the concrete face of the construction joint prior to subsequent concrete being placed against it. Movements along the joint caused by shrinkage or structural movement are accommodated by the water-activated swellable profile of the MasterSeal 910 AP waterbar.
Material composition of MasterSeal 910 AP
MasterSeal 910 AP is based on a newly developed polymer technology providing a chemically resistant flexible composite capable of storing water within its molecular structure thereby increasing its own volume, swelling. The swelling of the gasket, which depending on the type of water it is immersed in can be up 200% of its original volume. This extreme swelling causes it to exert pressure on either side of the joint blocking any water passage through the joint.
MasterSeal 910 AP resists deterioration in the following conditions: In fresh water and where the water has nominal salt content in construction with chemical exposure.
What is MasterSeal 910 AP used for?
MasterSeal 910 AP is designed to replace conventional difficult to cast in extruded PVC and rubber “tortuous path” waterstops, but only in construction joints where limited movement is expected. MasterSeal 910 AP is frequently used in the following structures:
